Highlights

Safari Itinerary

1 DAY

Day 1 - Arusha → Materuni Village → Chemka Hot Springs → Arusha

Destination

Materuni Village lies at approximately 1,800 meters above sea level on the southern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. The area is characterized by fertile volcanic soils supporting banana plantations and Arabica coffee farms cultivated by the Chagga community for generations.

Chemka (Kikuletwa) Hot Springs is a natural geothermal groundwater system located in semi-arid savannah terrain. The water emerges crystal clear, consistently warm, and rich in underground spring flow, creating a natural oasis environment surrounded by fig and acacia trees.

Day 1 - Arusha → Materuni Village → Chemka Hot Springs → Arusha

Day Activity

Guided hike through coffee farms and forested paths to Materuni Waterfall (approx. 80 meters high). Learn traditional Chagga coffee processing: harvesting, roasting, grinding, and preparation. After lunch, transfer to Chemka Hot Springs for swimming and relaxation in naturally heated waters.

2 DAY

Day 2 Arusha → Tarangire National Park

Destination

Tarangire National Park covers approximately 2,850 square kilometers and is defined by the Tarangire River, the only permanent water source in the region during the dry season. This river system attracts large elephant herds and migratory wildlife from surrounding Maasai steppe plains. The park is also known for its ancient baobab trees and strong predator presence, particularly lions and leopards.

Day 2 Arusha → Tarangire National Park

Day Activity

Full-day game drive with picnic lunch inside the park. Wildlife sightings may include elephants in large family groups, tree-climbing pythons, giraffes, wildebeest, zebra, and seasonal predators following prey concentrations along the river corridor.

Accommodation: Eileen's Tree Inn

3 DAY

Day 3 Karatu → Ngorongoro Crater → Karatu

Destination

Ngorongoro Crater is a collapsed volcanic caldera approximately 19 kilometers in diameter and 600 meters deep. It forms a self-contained ecosystem supporting over 25,000 large mammals. Due to its enclosed geography, wildlife remains resident year-round, including one of the most reliable populations of black rhino in Tanzania.

Day 3 Karatu → Ngorongoro Crater → Karatu

Day Activity

Early descent to maximize wildlife movement during cooler hours. Game drive across grassland plains, Lerai Forest, and hippo pools. High probability sightings include lion prides, buffalo herds, hyena, elephant bulls, and seasonal flamingos on Lake Magadi.

Tour Cost

The prices below are shown per person and vary depending on the number of travellers and accommodation category selected. Each range reflects real operating costs, including park and conservation fees (with VAT and other applicable taxes), vehicle use, crater service fees, and accommodation in the chosen category.

Because lodge rates and availability can vary seasonally, we present a minimum–maximum range rather than a fixed number. As group size increases, shared costs are reduced, which lowers the overall price per traveller. Final quotations are confirmed based on exact travel dates and selected lodges.
